The MGB remains one of the worlds best loved sports cars, as well as one of the most numerically successful and longest-lived.
More than half a million MGB's were made at Abingdon between 1962 and 1980. At the height of its popularity the factory
were making more than 50,000 a year. The MGB saw the introduction of a lighter monocoque body shell to replace the heavy
separate chassis of the MGA. This construction together with other suspension and drive train improvements made the MGB of
the 60's a pleasure to drive. Changes for the American market saw a decline in power and handling thanks to emission rules
and a change in the ride height. Sadly, lack of investment meant that the MGB remained little changed up to its final demise in 1980.
